Dreams Take Flight is a 100% volunteer-powered charity and proud of it. Every person donates their time; from the pilots, flight crew and ground support to the administrative support. It’s only through caring individuals like you that our magical journeys are able to take flight.
As a volunteer, you’ll have a unique opportunity to touch the lives of hundreds of special children. Your time will bring hope and happiness to those who need it the most.
Being a Dreams Take Flight volunteer will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. The work you put into making this an unforgettable experience for these special children will enrich your life and energize you. Over time you too could get a chance to chaperone the kids on the one-day Disney trip. Volunteers that go on the Disney trip are required to have a valid passport and have volunteered a min of 30 hours in the DTF year (July 1 to June 30). Please NOTE: 1st year volunteers may not be chosen for this years flight!
All volunteers are required to complete the Volunteer Registration, follow the Members Code of Conduct, pay your DTF Membership Fees, and submit a Criminal Records Check (CRC). Your CRC is valid for 2 years with Dreams Take Flight.
STEP 1: Volunteer Registration: Become a Dreams’ Volunteer by completing the Membership Registration Application form and paying the $10 annual membership fee. As long as you have been a DTF Member for 30 days, prior to the Annual AGM, all members have a vote at the Annual General Meeting. Being a valid DTF Member means you have completed all 4 STEPS in the application process – including handing in your CRC.
STEP 2: Code of Conduct: The Dreams Take Flight Members Code of Conduct describes the expectations and obligations associated with membership in Dreams Take Flight (Canada) and its Chapters. All volunteers must read and agree to the Members Code of Conduct. By submitting your DTF Membership payment, you have accepted the terms of the DTF Code of Conduct.
STEP 3: DTF Membership Fees: Once you submit your application, your membership will not start to be actioned until DTF has received your $10 Membership fee. Fees can be paid by:
1) clicking on the Paypal Subscribe button below (preferred) – make sure to note the name(s) you are paying for. You do not need a PayPal account to use this feature, you can use just a credit card.
STEP 4: Criminal Record Check (CRC) Letter: Once you have submitted your DTF Membership Application, Agreed to the DTF Code of Conduct and Paid your DTF Membership Fees, you have 30 days, to submit your clearance to the Executive of DTF. Please print the Authorization DTF CRC Letter (click on the CRC Letter button below) and take it to your local RCMP Station or EPS. Once you have received your clearance, scan and email it to: firstname.lastname@example.org
For volunteers wishing to renew their membership, please submit your payment using one of the methods in STEP 3. Next login to your Volgistics account and on the “my profile” tab confirm criminal record check is marked as complete. This means you do in fact have a valid CRC on file and will be automatically notified approximately 60 days before it expires. If the criminal record check is not marked complete please see STEP 4.
